Copying is Theft - and other legal myth
Copying is not theft, its copyright infringement.
"technically, file sharing is not theft. "
"So when you sing "Happy Birthday" to your mom, you don't owe a royalty to Mildred and Patty Smith Hill (they own the copyright), but when it is performed in a movie, you do see a credit roll."
"The problem for the RIAA and MPAA is that all they can see is that someone is copying a work -- they cannot tell the purposes for which the work is being copied. Therefore, when they sign an affidavit to get a subpoena alleging a copyright "infringement," all they really know is that a copy has been made, not that an infringement has occurred."
"And, yes, you can go to jail for infringement, even if you just downloaded a single song, so long as the "value" of the copies made of the work over a six month period exceeds $1,000."
Refusing help, woman gives birth aboard T
A former nurse gave birth while standing on the subway and refused help from fellow passengers, during and after the birth. Passengers say that while she was looking out the window her water broke. Her baby's head then body appeared and fell to the ground. The woman who had still been looking out the window picked up her baby, tied the umbilical cord, and wrapped it in a scarf. At the next subway stop she got off and ran up the stairs. In mid stride, she scooped up her placenta which had dropped to the ground, and placed it in her handbag.
Man Sues After 3-Hour Wait For Doctor
He sued for $5k and won, not the full amount but its still something. The doctor admitted to overbooking clients, but still claimed it wasn't his fault. If he was 15min over sure, its not his fault, but if its three hours, he is doing some serious overbooking.
